Measured after the garment wash

Linen pieces are washed after sewing, so the figures below are what you will own, not what left the cutting table. Expect about 1% more movement in the first wash at home; the brushed twill overshirt is the exception at 2% and is cut long for it.

How to measure yourself

Chest. Around the fullest part, tape flat and relaxed, breathing normally.
Waist, for trousers. Around your body where the trousers will sit: at the natural waist for the women’s wide trousers and the pleated trousers, a little below it for the men’s. Or measure a pair that fits, flat across the waistband, and double it.
Head. A soft tape around the head just above the ears and across the middle of the forehead, where a hat sits. Do not pull it tight.

Tops, shorts, dresses and skirts

Every piece says on its page which block it was cut on. The letter is the same across the three blocks; the measurements are not, so always check the table for the right block.

The unisex block is cut wide on purpose. If you usually wear a women’s M, take a unisex S; if you want the oversized shirt genuinely oversized, take your usual letter.

The inseam is the same across all waists, so a tall W28 and a short W36 both exist; the men’s pleated trousers run 80 cm and can be sent unhemmed on request. Women’s trousers sit at the natural waist, men’s a little below it, so measure where the trousers will actually sit. The drawstring trousers and pull-on shorts have an elasticated waist and fit the range in the last column.

Straw does not stretch. Between sizes, take the larger and close the gap with the chin cord or a folded strip of tissue under the sweatband. The linen bucket hat has a little give and runs true.
